Prescott All-Stars downed by USA Softball 15-0 PRESCOTT, Ariz.- USA Softball wrapped up an 11-day road trip with a 15-0, no-hit performance by Jennie Finch (La Mirada, Calif.) against the Prescott All-Stars as part of the KFC Bound 4 Beijing Tour. Natasha Watley (Irvine, Calif.) and Jessica Mendoza (Camarillo, Calif.) combined for eight RBI and six hits to help the team extend its Tour record to 37-1 It was a wildcat showdown in the first at bat as starter Jennie Finch (La Mirada, Calif.) met up with Autumn Champion. Champion won the battle with a walk to first but the next bat was a strikeout, throw out to clear the bases. A single by Natasha Watley (Irvine, Calif.) that blooped over the third baseman's head kicked off a four-run second inning to give the team a 5-0 advantage after Jessica Mendoza (Camarillo, Calif.) gave the team its first run of the game off an RBI single in the first. Mendoza raked in two more RBI with a shot down the left field line for a triple, the second triple of the inning along with Tairia Flowers (Tucson, Ariz.). Mendoza scored the final run of the inning, scoring on a passed ball. The game entered double digits USA runs in the third with the Red, White and Blue scoring six runs to take a 10-0 lead. Watley led the inning with a three-RBI homerun with Andrea Duran (Selma, Calif.) taking her pitch long for a solo homerun. Mendoza, Crystl Bustos (Canyon Country, Calif.) and Laura Berg (Santa Fe Springs, Calif.) all tallied an RBI in the six-hit third inning."Today was a good day on all sides of the game. I adjusted through my at bats and was able to come through with some hits,"said Watley."Today was challenging adjusting to the cold but I think the team came together and played a great game."The team tacked on one more in the fourth with Watley earning her fourth RBI of the game scoring Duran off a single. With two on in the fifth, Prescott All-Star pitcher Dallas Escobedo struck out two but Flowers kept the team in the inning with a three-run shot to left field to take the USA lead to 15-0.
